Wedding Season

Wedding Season 3 May 2017
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Here are some of my favorites for your typical wedding (meaning not black tie). I love all three for a spring/summer wedding but this lace one would be perfect year round, especially in red or black! Somehow I still don’t have an all lace dress… but they’re a really good all occasion dress and a good year round option as they don’t go out of style and lace good for all seasons. I also want to note that while I do love buying a new dress for a special occasion, it’s definitely smarter to invest in a good Little Black Dress (I bought my favorite LBD here last year and I’ve gotten countless wears out of it. Next on my list is finding a good pair of nude heels! While I still love a good pop of color, I’ve also found myself wanting more neutrals to ground my looks and keep my style classic and timeless.

Wedding Season 4 May 2017
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

These are a few of my favorites for a more formal wedding. I feel like the lace and the off the shoulder dress could also work for any wedding and this sequins one is more formal (think black tie- I actually have this one in blush and I LOVE it!). When looking at really formal gowns, classic is my go to. Especially since they’re not typically on the low end of price ranges, I prefer to buy something that I can wear again (and again, if need be!).

We have a decent amount of weddings this season (May-October) already so I’ve really been looking at dresses and trying to narrow down my options. Last year we had a lot of weddings, too, but I was pregnant and so I wasn’t all that into buying new clothes (unless I could wear them post pregnancy as well- maternity clothes aren’t my favorite) but I’m excited to finally be able to fit back into my wardrobe. Do you have any fun events coming up?

I know I’ve been a bit more absent around here but we’ve been staining our deck and fence and wow… it’s taken SO much more time than I originally thought it would. I’ve been waking up early (not that early, my goal is to be out of bed between 6:30 and 6:45 and it really should be between 6 and 6:15 if I want to get anything done but I also need sleep so…) and working on it during naptimes and any time I can occupy Amelia outside. Usually she wants to “help” so I’m not that productive when she’s out there with me. BUT taking on large house projects while trying to keep up with the blog, housework, and finances while caring for two kids is no small task so naturally some things get put on the back burner. I’ve been trying to keep up with Instagram so follow me there if you’re curious about what I’m up to (my Mom says it’s my complaining platform so you have that to look forward to, if you’re interested- haha!)!
