Obviously I’m very into dark greens right now… ok, always… but it’s everywhere at the moment! I also find myself drawn to more browns and creams than is typical of me. Especially this fall. I don’t have much in those color ways so I’m hoping to add a few pieces this season. Also on my list of what I want to add to my closet for this fall that didn’t make it onto this collage are another pair (or two) of joggers, a good pair of warm and cozy slippers, and maybe a chunky fleece and/ or another good neutral sweater.
I have this vest and I love it! It’s super warm and cozy and I love the extra layer it adds to a basic fall outfit. I wear it with leggings and sneakers and jeans and booties so it’s definitely a versatile piece (and makes a good Christmas gift!). I also really want to try these blue light blocking glasses. I’ve tried a pair before and I liked them but they were metal frames and kind of flimsy so I like that these seem more sturdy and I love the tortoise frames! It’s time I invested in a new pair of booties as mine are at least 5 years old and I wear them repeatedly from September-April and these Chelsea booties from Everlane are at the top of my list. I really like this cognac color but these Day Booties are also up there and I love the Ecru color.
I also have this leggings set from Girlfriend Collective and really want to get another set. I love the black, moss, and midnight colors and love the idea of throwing this fleece sweatshirt (not sustainable) over top. I’m picturing the leggings, fleece, and these fuzzy moccasins (the pewter color is my favorite! Also a great Christmas gift idea!) for the perfect winter weekend uniform!
Everything on this list is sustainable except for this sweater, which I still really love (these sneakers are under Nordstrom’s sustainable style tab but I’m not sure why… also, I don’t know about these glasses). Originally, I didn’t think I was going to be super steadfast about only shopping sustainable clothing brands, too, but I couldn’t, in good conscience, include anything here that I wouldn’t buy myself and I just have found myself unable to purchase anything that I know is not from a sustainable brand. I hope this doesn’t come across as preachy, I just want to be honest here because I think that’s important (also, I’m NOT perfect- I don’t always buy sustainable items- I just do it when I can or when I know of a better option- I also am still looking for sustainable kids’ clothes so stay tuned for updates!)! If you don’t know where to start, try Good on You– it gives brands a rating according to their sustainability and ethical practices and offers tips for reducing your impact (also, see this post!).
