Seeing Red

Red is one of those colors I always feel drawn to but rarely buy and I’ve been making a concerted effort to change that recently. I always feel so bold when I wear red and love the pops of red around my house during the holidays! These red striped cotton poplin pants have been on my list for months now… I’d pair them with this Favorite Daughter collegiate sweatshirt in maroon. If you’re wanting to add a pop of red to your wardrobe but are hesitant to wear such a strong color, consider adding a red accent piece, like a bag or necklace! If red feels too overwhelming to you, though, and you’re still wanting to add some color, try a more muted shade or even pink!

Have you heard of The Unexpected Red Theory in interior design? At the risk of oversimplifying it, it basically says that if you add a pop of red to any room where it seemingly doesn’t match, it instantly makes it look better and feel more pulled together. I think red is a relatively neutral color in the sense that it works when paired with most colors so this makes sense to me!

If you want to add a little color to your look but aren’t sure where to start, try a red accessory. This red agate necklace would be a beautiful addition to any look and it will pop against something even as simple as just a white tee. The black waxed cord is perfectly understated and chic.

A bold red and white tee feels classic and sporty and perfectly complements jeans or joggers. Pair with a baseball hat and sneakers for quintessential soccer mom vibes.
