As most of you probably know, I recently became a Beautycounter consultant and I’m really excited about my first holiday with them! Their mission is to get safer beauty into the hands of everyone (even if it’s not Beautycounter) and it just felt right joining in as I already loved and used their products and have been on my own clean lifestyle and sustainability journey for these last few years. They have some incredible holiday sets right now and I wanted to take a minute to break them down here because there are so many options and I find it helpful when all the information I need or want is in one place!
Wearing The All-in-One Palette and Sheer Genius in Rosewood
When I first became a consultant, even though I loved Beautycounter’s products and had been using them for years and strongly believed in their mission to get safer beauty products into everyone’s hands (and change the laws so that #betterbeauty is accessible for everyone), I was a little nervous to take the leap into selling. What would people think? Would they be annoyed that I was talking about something I was selling, particularly on Instagram? Would I be labeled as “that girl?” But honestly, I’d already been talking about products I love on my blog and social platforms. This December marks 8 years since I’ve started my blog and I only started using social media because of that. I also know that I’ve built my brand on honesty, sustainability, and talking about what I use in my own home and I ONLY ever promote products that I love so why would this be any different? I decided to just go for it and not worry about what people think and I haven’t looked back since!
One of the biggest things about this launch is that we released two makeup sets that are talc-free! Even before I started with Beautycounter, I was on clean beauty train and talc-based makeup is one of the biggest offenders. Talc is actually mined with asbestos and I’ve read numerous articles saying that asbestos has actually been found in talc based makeup products! My initial descent into the world of clean beauty was slow, replacing items as needed and honestly, my makeup was the last thing I changed (lip products were the first, followed by mascara). but when I read that first article about the dangers of talc based products (eye shadows had been the last non clean makeup item I was hanging onto), I threw out the rest of my non-clean makeup products and immediately bought a talc-free eyeshadow palette from Ilia. And now Beautycounter has their own palette plus a bronzer & cream eyeshadows!
There’s a few sets that are both great for gifting as a set and also really good to break apart to either gift alone or pair with other items! I bought a hand cream set to break apart and pair with our body butter set but I also like the idea of pairing a lip gloss from the Beyond Gloss Trio with either a body butter or a hand cream. I think these would be perfect for teachers, co-workers, friends, etc. Especially for people who wear masks daily (again… teachers, medical professionals, essential workers, etc.), I like the idea of gifting a hand cream (because we’re all washing our hands non stop!) and maybe a charcoal mask (or I can give you a sample- so it would be a one time use mask- because “maskne”).
I’m working through some ideas I have to help with your holiday shopping- I love finding the perfect gift and would love to help you to do the same! I also love the idea of pairing a hand cream with one of the Jellies for a small gift (think under $20) or a hand cream and a body butter (under $30). Again, if you’re interested, I can throw in a charcoal mask sample so you could also gift a one time use mask! I have some more ideas below under the “Under $50” and “Under $100” categories with a few non-Beautycounter add-ons, too!

I’ve done a lot of research in the clean beauty department and have lots of recommendations (yes, more than just Beautycounter, too!) if you’re interested! I also am a big fan of Everlane for sustainable clothing gifts if you’d rather go that route. Stay tuned for more detailed gift guides to come! I’m planning on doing one for women (with lots of ideas at different price points for the women of various ages in our lives), men, and kids (younger kids, probably, as mine are 5 and 3)! Let me know if there is anything in particular you’d like to see or if there is any way I can help you! I’m hosting one on one Zoom sessions, thinking about hosting a local “Happy Hour” in my driveway so people can see the holiday sets and some of our products for themselves, or you could “host” a pop up (even if it’s just sharing a link) to earn FREE products and get some of your Christmas gifts at no cost!
Also, happy Election Day! I have to say, despite COVID making me feel so disconnected from our community, it was a really cool feeling seeing everyone at the polls this morning. It reassured me that regardless of who wins, we really are all in this together! Hope you get out there and VOTE!!
