I’m not going to lie, I had to look up DIY napkin rings on Pinterest because I didn’t know if making your own out of ribbon was “acceptable” or not. As it turns out, it is… but everything I could find suggests twine or raffia and using modge podge to actually make a napkin ring. I wanted to get to decorating while Amelia was napping, however, so I had to improvise and use what I had since running to the store was not an option. I simply folded the napkin in a simple fold*, wrapped some twine around the folded napkin twice, and tied a knot. I then stuck two fake leaves in the twine and voila!
*To fold a napkin this way, lay it flat on a table and pick it up from the center. Smooth out any wrinkles and hold it in the center to then begin wrapping the twine.
Happy Friday! Do you have any fun fall plans this weekend? We are going to a football game and have a Halloween party this Saturday and I’m hoping to sneak in maybe one more fun fall thing (or maybe spend some time doing some housework… it’s long overdue!)!
