Rice Krispies Treats

1-051
I know this seems like the easiest dessert to make but honestly, I had to look up the recipe when I decided I wanted to make these the other day. And as long as we’re being honest, this was the first time I’ve made these in years! They’re so simple, quick, and delicious! You can eat them plain (preferably still warm!) or you can drizzle them with chocolate (and maybe caramel!) OR you can flavor the mixture (my sister-in-law made cake batter rice krispies treats one time and they were really good, too!)! So, at the risk of telling you something you already know, I’m sharing the recipe for rice krispies treats today (and if you already know the recipe, then this is a friendly reminder to make them asap!!).

recipe from Kellogg’s

Ingredients:
6 cups rice krispies
3 tablespoons butter, plus more for buttering the dish
10 oz marshmallows

Directions:
Butter a 13 x 9 dish or baking pan (I used a Pyrex dish and it worked really well).
Put butter and marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 2 minutes and then for 30 seconds at a time (or melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add marshmallows), stirring until smooth. In a separate bowl, measure out the rice krispies. Add marshmallow mixture to rice krispies and stir together until rice krispies are all coated.
Press mixture into buttered dish and allow to cool or serve while still slightly warm.

Clearly I didn’t take a picture once they were cut into bars to show you how perfectly gooey they were, but that’s only because I couldn’t pause for long enough between bites to actually get a picture. I didn’t even put them on a plate to serve them!

Happy Friday!!

Enjoy!
